The SSAT aims to make information on its website accessible to all users. If you are having difficulty accessing or reading information, please contact us and we will arrange to get the information to you in another form.
Documents on this website are available in both Portable Document Format (PDF) and Rich Text Format (RTF). Hard-copies are available from any office of the SSAT, upon request.
Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the PDF version of forms. It is available as a free download from the Adobe web site. Access At Adobe provides a number of tools that can help people who use speech readers to read the content of PDF documents. These tools work by converting PDF documents to text readable by speech readers. These tools are free of charge and most require no downloading of files.
For information in another language, call 131 450 from anywhere in Australia. The Translating and Interpreting Service can call the SSAT on your behalf.
Professional interpreters are available at no cost to applicants, to assist during the hearing. You must inform your case manager, if you require an interpreter. Please note that friends or family members may not interpret at a hearing.
Interpreters are covered by confidentiality provisions and a Code of Ethics, which means customers can be reassured that any information learned through an interview conducted by an interpreter will remain confidential.
Please contact your local SSAT office to discuss how your individual requirements may best be met. Assistance may include sign interpreters, hearing loop, help getting to and from the hearing and flexible hearing options (such as hearings by telephone or video-conference).
