About e-Recruitment

The SSAT requires that all applications for vacancies are lodged using the E-Recruitment database. If you wish to view current vacancies click on the following link SSAT Candidate Portal.

How it works

The system allows applicants to:

  • search for vacancies
  • access and read position descriptions/selection criteria
  • view contact officer and closing date details
  • apply for vacancies on-line
  • access previous applications submitted through the system
  • receive communication, particularly application acknowledgements (via email)

Who has access to my application?

  • you
  • the selection committee responsible for assessing your application
  • the delegate (the departmental manager who has the authority to approve selection decisions)
  • HR staff (who administer recruitment for the SSAT)

What happens when I submit an application?

When you submit an application you should receive an automated response via email, advising that your application has been received. If you do not receive an e-mail please ring the SSAT HR team on 03 8626 4927 to confirm your application has been received.

How to apply

You will need to register if you are using the system for the first time.

Click on 'Start New Application' and then follow the prompts.

Once you have registered your details you will receive an e-mail containing a password. This password will allow you to access your application up until the time it is submitted.

A candidate profile will also be created. When applying for future vacancies the system will automatically populate the standard fields thus reducing the time and effort required.

If you have forgotten your password, the system will ask you to enter your email address and will then email the password to you.

Formatting tips

It is suggested that you prepare your responses to the selection criteria in word and then cut and paste your responses into the database. Use plain text (don't use bolding or underlining) and if you want to use dot/bullet points, indicate these by using asterisks (*) or dashes (-). Check your spelling (use spell check) and the word count before your cut and paste.

Privacy and security

The SSAT treats personal information as confidential. Your personal information will not be provided to third parties and will not be used for purposes other than recruitment unless you specifically give us permission to do so. While the SSAT provides a secure environment, you should be aware there are inherent risks associated with the transmission of information via the Internet.

Further assistance

If you have any further queries please contact the SSAT HR team on 03 8626 4927 or e-mail hr-payroll@ssat.gov.au.
