Welfare Rights Network
Specialise in helping people with social security and student assistance matters. Most will help you (at no cost) to deal with Centrelink, the Social Security Appeals Tribunal and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

Community Legal Centres
Many community legal centres give free advice and assistance on social security and student assistance matters.

Australian Council of Social Service
The national peak council of the community welfare sector in Australia. It gives a voice to low income and disadvantaged people in social and economic policy matters.

Legal Aid
Make legal aid available at a reasonable cost to the community.

Administrative Appeals Tribunal
Provides independent review of a wide range of administrative decisions made by the Australian government and some non-government bodies.

Council of Australasian Tribunals (COAT)
A national body comprising Commonwealth, State and Territory and New Zealand tribunals.

Federal Court
Jurisdiction covers almost all civil matters arising under Australian federal law and some summary criminal matters.

High Court
Highest court in the Australian judicial system.

Migration Review Tribunal
A statutory body which provides a final, independent, merits review of visa and visa-related decisions made by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs.

Refugee Review Tribunal
Provides independent merits review of decisions made by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs to refuse or cancel protection visas to non-citizens in Australia.

Veterans’ Review Board
Reviews decisions about Repatriation pensions (other than Service Pensions) and attendant allowance. It is independent of the Repatriation Commission and the Department of Veterans' Affairs.
