Administrative Appeals Tribunal
You can apply to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) if
you do not agree with a SSAT decision regarding your parental leave
pay review.
SSAT staff cannot provide advice on whether you should or should
not lodge an application for review with the AAT. You may wish to
seek legal advice before deciding whether to apply.
Please note that there is a time limit in which to lodge a notice
of application to the AAT. Applications to the AAT must be lodged
within 28 days of the SSAT decision, which is sent to the
applicant's last known postal address. You may wish to contact the
AAT for advice on how to lodge an application for review to
it.
Centrelink also has further appeal rights. This means that if an
applicant's review at the SSAT is successful, Centrelink also has
28 days in which to decide whether or not to apply to the
AAT.
